Working a 9 to 5 is just not for me anymore. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed the security and the benefits a regular job has to offer, but it’s just not my cup of tea anymore.
In 1990, I worked for a private company for a few years. It was my 1st job out of college and the pay was very minimal.
I worked there for about (3) years, but quit after I was passed over for a job opening as a computer programmer.
I was clearly the most qualified for the job with a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, but my supervisor was influential in the hiring of another guy from our department who was smart but clearly didn’t have my credentials.
This experience played a major role in my life because it introduced me to the idea of favoritism. At the time I didn’t know how to handle it, but later I learned it is a part of everyday life especially in corporate america.
In 1993 I started working a government job for the City. I was hired in the Business Development Department as a Database Manager. My job was to keep an active database of all commercial and industrial sites in the city. This job was repetitive and not very challenging at all, the politics was awful and the misappropriation of funds was ridiculous. After about (4) years I resigned from working for the City.
The Attractive Appeal of Entrepreneurship
In 1997, I resigned from my city job and started working for myself in the construction field. I have been an entrepreneur since 1997 and I haven’t missed a meal yet. Just like anything else there have been some difficult days, but the benefits of being able to call your own shots has a more pleasing appeal to me.
At the time the construction industry was booming and my family was already in the field so it was a great fit for me. Between 1997 & 2007, I made a substantial amount of money in construction, but then in the last quarter of 2007 the Great Recession hit and all but destroyed the housing market which had a devastating impact on my construction business.
The Recession left me scrambling for ways to make money in order to sustain the lifestyle I had created. The Construction Industry still has not fully recovered but I’ve managed to find a few creative ways to supplement my income by working online.
Continuing The Entrepreneur Spirit by Creating Supplemental Income
I’ve always been a fairly good writer so I discovered a way to generate income online by writing articles.
It is an excellent platform which allows me to write about any topic I’m passionate about.
This is by no means fast money but as I continue to build quality content the potential to earn income expands as well.
Over time as I continue to build a following my income has grown.
How do you earn by publishing your articles

Ebay & Amazon Products can be inserted into my articles as well as a means to generate income. When visitors purchases a product(s) I earn a percentage of the sell.
Wondering what you can write about? Walk someone through your Most Delicious Recipe, start a conversation about something you care about, bring someone along in your travel with a video, recommend your favorite product.
Write about any or all of these things and start sharing your knowledge and expertise with a community of passionate people and with the world while earning revenue at the same time.
